A gold bracelet, bragging rights and cash money is the goal and most players will hit up Las Vegas and compete in multiple events, especially the pros.

Because of the series popularity, other groups usually do not host events as they know players will be participating in the WSOP. However, this year, the World Poker Tour has created a brand new event by Party Poker and it will take place at the same time as events of the WSOP.

The new event is titled PartyPoker presents: WPT 500 at ARIA and the event will run from July 1st to the 6th at the ARIA Resort & Casino which is in Las Vegas. This will also be the time of WSOP events so it will be interesting to see how well the tournament is for the WPT event.

The tournament will have a buy-in of just $500 + $65 and will have a guaranteed  prize pool of $1 million. The winner of the event will go home with at least $200,000 and five Day 1s will take place with a Day 2 that includes the final table on July 6th. Players will be able to compete in multiple Day 1st which will help to push the chip stacks further into game play.

The event will take place at the same time as popular WSOP events such as the Little One for One Drop, $10k PLO, $1,500 NLHE and the $1,500 10-Game Mix Six Handed event. The tournament will also run during the first two starting days of the Main Event. Jeffrey Has the Global Poker Director for PartyPoker stated that they expect more online qualifiers to participate in this event than any other poker tournament in Las Vegas so we shall see if the WSOP gets a run for their money!
